Created by Christian Gossett and co-written by Bradley James Kayl, The Red Star is an epic science-fantasy series set in an alternate version of Soviet Russia, where advanced military technology and ancient sorcery coexist. The story follows the United Republics of the Red Star, a once-powerful empire whose utopian ideals have been corrupted by its leader, Imbohl, a powerful sorcerer obsessed with immortality and absolute control.

The narrative centers on Sorceress-Major Maya Antares, a member of the Red Fleet's elite military sorcerers, who struggles to uncover the fate of her husband, Captain Marcus Antares, after he disappears during a devastating military campaign. As Maya and her allies confront the horrors of war, they gradually discover the dark secrets behind their nation's history and the true nature of Imbohl's regime. Forced to turn against the very empire they once served, the heroes embark on a dangerous quest to overthrow its tyrannical ruler and free their people from generations of oppression.

Blending military science fiction, dark fantasy, alternate history, and political commentary, The Red Star explores the destructive consequences of authoritarianism, ideological fanaticism, and endless warfare. The series is particularly notable for its cinematic visual style, which combines traditional comic-book artwork with sophisticated computer-generated 3D environments and digital coloring to create a distinctive, large-scale aesthetic.
